When Graham Thompson asked me to build this website, I did all the usual
search term research on the Google Keyword Tool. There appeared to be very few
search terms for the rather obscure used products he was selling. I advised
Graham that the site may not work well and he may be wasting his money. He
decided to give it a go.
It's turned out brilliantly for him.
Visitors can't buy directly from the site. They have to contact him by email or
phone. He sells all his stock through this website. The best part is the email
gathering system. Graham gets 5 or 6 requests a day from printers and machine
dealers from around the world to join his email list.. Whenever he has a 'new'
machine for sale, he sends out batches of emails to his list. He almost always
will sell a £20,000 ($30,000) machine within 24 hours.
There is no other way Graham could get such
worldwide coverage as this website.
This site is designed to give would-be
customers around the world, the confidence to buy a very expensive machine
from someone they don't know. You can see a picture of Graham on the phone, sat
at his desk. You can see a picture of him checking out a despatched machine on
the truck. You can see his phone numbers, email address and physical address on
every page.
This is the result on Google for the
search term 'used computer to plate equipment'.
You can see it is no2 out of over a million websites. It's also at no1 on Yahoo
at the time of writing.
